Design and Technology
During Year 7 & 8 Design & Technology you will rotate around each of our four exciting subject areas; 3D Design, Food and Nutrition, Engineering and Graphics.
Spending three terms on each subject and being introduced to different tools, equipment and design briefs within each area. Please see the PowerPoint below to view what you will be designing and manufacturing!
Moving into year 9, students have the opportunity to revisit each material area in a short project with a focus on building upon practical skills prior to selecting their GCSE options. Projects include pizza wheels in Food and Nutrition, a pen holder in Engineering, a designer tile in 3D Design and modelling a trainer in Graphics.
Please view the PowerPoints below, to see what you could be studying at GCSE in Design & Technology. If you chose to study with us for your GCSE then these courses will commence in Term 6 of year 9 with an introductory project to prepare and increase your skill level for year 10 and 11.
