Sixth Form Transition

Welcome to RWBA Sixth Form

We look forward to welcoming all applicants to our Yr 12 Induction days – Monday 1st July & Tuesday 2nd July 2024.

The induction programme will be sent out to all applicants the week before the induction days. The programme will allow all students the opportunity to experience RWBA Sixth Form life. Throughout the days students will meet their tutor, tutor group, take part in lessons in their chosen A level/BTEc subjects as well as get to know students, staff and the facilities and have fun in the house team building events.

All subjects request that you complete some preparation work to ensure you are able to really embrace your chosen courses in September. Staff have put together a document for each subject we offer in Sixth Form. In each document, you will find reading lists, ideas for films and documentaries to watch, useful websites to visit, and very importantly, a series of tasks you must complete before starting Sixth Form.

It is essential that you complete all of the required activities for each of the subjects you hope to study at A-Level/BTEc. You might also want to consider completing the activities of other subjects, in case you decide to change your options, or if you don’t quite meet the entry requirements when you receive your GCSE grades in August.

As well as this, it is vital that your knowledge of the GCSE content in each of your chosen subjects is strong, so that you are best prepared to start A-Levels later in the year. Read through your GCSE notes and revision guides, complete past paper questions and use mark schemes to help with this.

If you have trouble accessing any content, are unsure about what you need to do, or have any other questions, please contact Sixth Form at sixthform@rwba.org.uk and will do our best to help you.
