The aims of the RWBA Modern Foreign Languages department are:
- To provide students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively communicate in the target language.
- To provide students with the ability to understand and engage with the target language in written and spoken form.
- To promote cultural awareness and appreciation in countries where the languages are spoken.
KS3
During KS3 at Royal Wootton Bassett Academy pupils will study one of either French, German or Spanish. Through this, we hope that pupils
will learn to appreciate different countries, cultures, communities and people. They will also gain insight into their own culture and society.
Pupils will cover a range of topics, which will enable them to gain a greater confidence in expressing themselves in the target language. The
content and detail for what is covered in each term will vary according to set, allowing for greater challenge or consolidation where
required.
