TRANSITION
Royal Wootton Bassett Academy believe that the transition from Primary to Secondary School is very important and therefore we try and make it as smooth as possible.
On this page you will find a transition booklet should you wish to complete it.
Keep an eye on this page as it will be regularly updated with photos from our transitional activities that happen here at RWBA. We run ‘Our World’ sessions for Year 5 students so they can have a taster session in different subjects and get used to being in the school. We also do a gifted and talented stretch session in Maths with some Year 6 students. In Year 7 we also invite the Year 6 Primary School teachers to come and meet with the students and see how they have been progressing in Year 7.
Year 6 Open Evening
The Open Evening this year is on Wednesday 16th September from 6pm.
This is an event for prospective parents and students to view the school and there will be activities in the some of the classrooms during the course of the evening and there will be three presentations by Mrs Ellis, Headteacher – timings to be advised. There will be the chance to talk with the Head Teacher, various members of the Leadership team, members of the SEN team, teachers, students and other members of staff you might wish to know more about when transitioning up to secondary school.
There will be a Headteachers talk at 6.15pm and 7.15pm
You can book one of three times to attend – 6.00, 6.15 & 6.30 (limited places on each one)

There will be an opportunity to explore the whole school by themselves or have tours with current student.
There is a bingo card for young visitors to complete in order to win a small bag of sweets.
The event will finish at 8pm.
