Dress Code

Our dress code provides a set of standards that Royal Wootton Bassett Academy Sixth Form has adopted. Please see the guidelines below.

What to Wear

The Sixth Form has adopted a “Smart Casual” dress code.  

For the Female Student

What is acceptable:

  • Skirt 
  • Tailored trousers, black brushed cotton
  • Dresses
  • Blouses or shirts (long or short sleeves)
  • T-shirts (no offensive logos)
  • V-neck jumpers 
  • Cardigans
  • Waistcoat or tailored jacket
  • Leggings
  • Vest Top
  • Coat
  • Sensible shoes/boots/smart casual

What is not acceptable:

  • Any blue denim (jeans, jackets, skirts)
  • Low-cut tops
  • Shorts
  • Hooded tops
  • Training Shoes
  • Very short skirts 
  • Cropped tops
  • Hats
  • Flip flops or Espidrilles 

For the male student

What is acceptable:

  • Tailored trousers, regular Chino trousers, black brushed cotton
  • Collared shirts (plain, pastels, simple stripes)
  • Polo Shirts/T-Shirts (no offensive logos)
  • Jumpers 
  • Cardigans 
  • Suit
  • Sensible shoes/smart casual shoes

What is not:

  • Any Blue denim (jeans, jackets, shirts)
  • Large patterned shirts e.g. Hawaiian
  • Vest tops 
  • Hooded tops
  • Training Shoes
  • Hats
  • Items with large logos
  • Flip flops, Espadrilles
  • Shorts

Appropriate jewellery may be worn by Sixth Form students.  Facial jewellery should be discreet. Hairstyles/coloured hair should be moderate, not extreme and should reflect the general expectations of the school.
